what I wanted to be....art journal

Over at Another freaking scrappy challenge they asked, What did you want to be when you grew up?
you can create a layout, art journalling page, card or tag for our challenges, as long as you keep with the spirit of the theme......I decided to do an art journal page....I just started the art journal...I liked the idea of a place I could try new things and just kind of be free to experiment with out messing up a whole LO ....

so first here is my page for Another freaking scrappy challenge

Now like I said I just started this journal and guess what I made it all by my self LOL here is what the cover looks like...

 I used an old pair of jeans....

Happy Happy Birthday

My best friends Birthday is coming up and I thought I would attempt to make her a nice birthday card....I couldn't use girly papers because shes not all that girly LOL....So this is what I came up with...I used the sketch from Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge

Me and My Brother

There are two wonderful challenges going on....One at lasting Memories which is to scrap a vintage/old type picture....and then the one over at Another freaking Scrappy Challenge,"What is on your greatest challenge? Scrap about one of your greatest current challenges, or a challenge from your past."

When I first saw the vintage/old photo challenge I knew just which picture I wanted to use....so the hunt began.... while I was hunting for the illusive photo I thought....this also fit into the whats you greatest challenge too since the photo is of me and my Bother....see one of the biggest challenge for me is being away from my Family I live in Wisconsin and most of them live in Connecticut ....hmmm that's quite the drive..I guess its not just hard on me either...it is really hard on my brother,you see we have always been really close he even Married my best friend from school, we had our kids around the same time ( his oldest is born on my birthday) the oldest ones are just a month apart....and the youngest ones were close too....I had two girls and he had the two boys.....About six months ago our whole world seemed to change (I wont get into it ...it will make me cry but you can read it here) My family (mostly my brother) begged me /us to move closer so they could be there for us....that just wasn't something we could do....So anyway that's one of my biggest challenge...missing my brother!

 This is one of the only pictures we have as small children and its old and a bit torn at the edges...I scanned it to my computer but didn't alter it in anyway

Great Escape

Good day all....I have a layout I'd like to share.....I used the sketch from Another Freaking Scrappy Challenge......the picture is another one of Samantha in Florida relaxing after a very long day at Disney!

 I used plenty of layers and just a bit of texture paste....
