Vintage theme

Good evening my scrappy friends, I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend! Mine has been pretty lazy, I spent today making up some cards and I thought I would share them with all of you...

First up is a card I made for the challenge over at Scrap Africa~ this time its a Vintage theme! It took me awhile to come up with an idea....Vintage is really hard for me...don't get me wrong I love vintage style layouts and projects but I just can't seem to make my own LOL at least ones that I like when I'm finished....but I have to say I am really lovin my card, I used a bunch of scraps and dug through my ribbons...I really thought I had an older price of lace but I think it has vanished along with those odd socks that seem to disappear from the dryer! anyway I found a stark white one and I tea dyed it...Love it! I will definitely be doing that again! anyway here is my lovely card....

and now here are two cards that were inspired by one I saw on pinterest....there weren't any directions but it looked pretty self explanatory but I wrote the basics :)
I made these for Fall/Thanksgiving and thought I would share it's a quick and simple card but I think it packs a colorful punch! I used my silhouette portrait to cut the leaf shapes ...then took a piece of white cardstock and used some dylusions ink sprays to make my fall colors...after it dried I cut 2 pieces 2in x 5 1/2 for the inside of the card and 2 pieces at 1/2in x 5 1/2 for the outside. and voila a beautiful fall card!

thank you so much for coming to take a peek at my latest projects!

Blessing

Good afternoon my scrappy friends, this morning I have my latest layout that I wanted to share...I used the sketch from Blue Fern Studios for their September challenge and also the criteria from the Frosted Designs newest challenge "add "Graffiti " To your project: Paint, Doodling, and/or handwriting."

here is what I came up with....

I started with Tim Hotz paper and a couple pieces of scraps leftover from another project..added some old pages from a dictionary....I layered the strips of scraps then added the ripped pages of dictionary paper...added a bit of gesso....then tried to pick out some matching mists (lol I don't own many) .....added a bit of washi tape.....while I was waiting for the paint to dry I made a couple flowers to add to my layout...

I really loved the sketch this month but I didn't have a big circle piece of chipboard from  Blue Fern Studios so I made due with plain cardstock...I cut the design from my Silhouette portrait then painted it...I dug through my stash of Blue fern chippy pieces and pulled out a couple tags that would work with the design in my head (not that it always turns out as planned lol), I gesso and stamped both tags...one I stamped with a sentiment/title in the upper left corner and the other is behind the photo... I hand wrote a couple phrases around the photo and also doodled the arrows around the whole layout...
added a bit of twine and voila my layout is complete ....
Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my latest project!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Always Remember You

As most of you already know I started scrapbooking just about two years ago after a tragic accident claimed my youngest daughters life....September 28th will make the two years that she has been gone! through scrapbooking I have been able to come to grips (sorta) with the fact that she isn't here but will always live on in our hearts and memories! I've created several scrapbooks (including minis) for her friends and our family members...I want to be able to remember all the good times we had! Its been wonderful therapy!

I wanted to share a layout I did using one of my favorite pictures of my Stephanie...she had that whole teen attitude going on, with "really another picture" just thinking about it makes me smile! I used the sketch from C'est Magnifique for their September challenge!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and look at my latest project!

a peaceful place

Good evening my scrappy friends,  I have been waiting fro a sunny day to take pictures but the weather is just not cooperating with me! So I guess I will just have to make due...I wanted to share my layout using the sketch from Scrap Africa.....

Thank you so much for taking the time to come and check out my latest project!

Lost my Mojo

Evening my scrappy friends....I've been staring at this months sketches and I just can't seem to find my mojo LOL so I trolled a few sites and ended up on Beyond the grey challenges and inspiration struck! Their new challenge Textured Tag...I went for bright and cheerful :) I used texture paste and a simple stencil, lots of mist and a couple different stamps

I basically used what was already on my desk...left of over die cut some butterflies...haha even the stamps I used just happen to still be on my desk...I think I need to clean my desk LOL
I was trying to find a good angle so you could see the texture...I don't have any small stencils so most look a little off on smaller projects...this one just happened to fit pretty well!
Thank you so much for coming to take a peek at my found Mojo! LOL
