Lets Get Sketchy Team B's reveal

So I decided to play along this week with Team B over at Lets Get Sketchy even though its not my team but I loved the sketch....

I used these beautiful pictures my best friend sent me from her new home in New Hampshire...I so miss the fall colors in New England :( we just don't get those pretty reds and oranges....we go from green to yellow to brown...not my idea of pretty LOL if I am lucky I will be able to see the beautiful fall colors with my own two eyes...we have planned a trip to Maine,we're leaving Oct 24th so I should be able to catch some of it! Must remember to bring my camera!

 I am also linking up with lasting memories for their use a black background challenge!

Now I'd like to share another card I made for Get Creative...all this month they are holding card challenges in honor of  world of card making day and the 3rd Birthday of  Get Creative! they will be holding 12 (with 12 prizes)card challenges this month!

this challenge is to use a stencil or masking on your card!

I got to use a stencil that I haven't had a chance to use and a velum sentiment that just never seemed to fit into my scrapping pages...so it was win win LOL

LGS-Team B reveal

Good Morning Scrappy Friends,I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend! As you already know Monday means a new sketch over at Lets Get Sketchy and the Dt's reveal...its not my week but I decided to play along anyway....I combined the sketch with Lasting Memories challenge "Animal Antics" and I am linking up with Paper Issues "put some twine on it"

 I used the picture we had taken from my surprise day at the wild life park...out of all the times I've been to a Zoo or Wildlife park I have never fed anything other then Deer or goats lol so to feed the Giraffes was all kinds of fun and their tongues are purple I did not know that Oh and wicked long!

when I first read the challenge at Lasting Memories I was going to use the pictures I had taken of the turtles but they weren't very family friendly and caused quite a scene at the park...I thought it was hilarious to watch the parents trying to explain to the little kids exactly what those naughty turtles were doing...I hadn't laughed so hard in a really long time!

The Journey is the destination

This morning I had the pleasure of going on a our Scavenger Birthday Hop over at Lasting Memories...its Karen's Birthday...Btw Happy Birthday Karen! the Design team had some really fabulous projects and some wonderful blog candy is being offered...Each team member picked an element to use on their layout....10 in total and I have to use 5 in my layout for their challenge....here is what I came up with...
I used  chipboard*Washi tape*flowers*diecuts*stamps*button*mist*

I am also entering this layout in the challenge over at 123 Get Scrapping.....

It's Monday

Yes its Monday and the fifth Monday of the month....the New challenge over at Lets Get Sketchy is any thing goes! As part of the design team it wasn't mandatory for us to do inspiration for this challenge but I thought what the heck...I used a sketch from the summer challenge over at The Memory Nest and the theme from lasting Memories which happens to be Christmas in July....

here is what I came up with.......

the twist on the sketch is to use buttons and/or brads...I used plenty of buttons

Best Birthday Ever

another Monday and another new sketch over at Lets Get Sketchy....even though its not my week I still decided to play along...
I used pictures from one of Samantha's Birthdays...this one sticks out in my mind because she so wanted a Lion King birthday cake and I couldn't find anyone who would make one at the time...So I took it upon myself to make one haha I went to bed crying the night before her Birthday party because the frosting was So darn orange when it was suppose to be yellow.....I guess the coloring needed to settle because when I woke up it was perfect! well as perfect as I was going to make it anyway!

I combined the sketch with two other challenges this week...the first one is Lasting Memories - their challenge was to use birds or bees in your project! And the other is The Paper girls - their challenge is to use water colors.

 I used water colors for the background and there are bird cut outs on the balloons

The long way around

Good afternoon my lovely blog followers....

I have a page I wanted to share with you...I combined a couple challenges....lets see...first off is Archi-scraps for their picture inspiration....then Lasting memories their challenge was a bit hard for me Its called Country Charm (We're looking for "Country Colors" but this could even mean your country colors! Ex: Canada = red/white, USA = red/white/blue! Or just use a country color palette! We're also looking for a charm on your LO as well.) I don't really have red  so I went with what I thought country colors were..lol

So Now for Archi-scraps...after I saw the picture I really had no idea what I wanted to do for this challenge...it took me quite awhile to figure it out...this is what I came up with....

 Now I know it doesn't swirl...but when I was going through pictures from my last trip to Maine I came across one of this darn bridge in Boston ( I really hate bridges)....when I saw the peak it was just perfect for the challenge!

with pin and now you can see the charm too

the swirl flourish was inspired by the spiral in the picture and I added a butterfly charm (requirement for Lasting memories )

Today is your day

I was all kinds of excited when I came across the pictures of my oldest daughters first communion ....I tried to find the one with all her cousins in it but only found this one with one cousin....I want to say there were six all born around the same time...so this became a big family event for all involved. I used the sketch from Blue Ferns Studio's and a pictures for inspiration for a challenge over at Flying Unicorn and this also falls in to the Family category for lasting memories challenge

 the key hole is a blue ferns chipboard piece....

Yay its Monday

Yeah I know its crazy but I kind of love Mondays....it means there is a new sketch over at lets get sketchy! Even though its not my week I decided to play along.....I used this weeks sketch and also the criteria for the challenge over at lasting memories which happens to be things with wings

Over at Lasting Memories the challenge this time is all about journaling/story telling...I had the prefect picture for this one....its been sitting on my desk for months now! I used a sketch from Pamela's world of scrap

 this is Kitty my youngest daughters very first stuffed animal....he now resides in my room!

I figured I had to finish my friends album since we will be taking a trip this summer to see her...So this page is for her album its of her and she son and two of their fur babies Wicked and Louis! I used the sketch from Scrap Africa and inspiration from Archi-scraps....I used the colors in the picture along with the circle shapes Plus the pug silhouette! I am also linking up with Lasting memories for their leather and lace challenge (aka frilly and masculine)

playing catch up

I did this layout today.......I used a couple different mists and tried to blend them...not sure that worked out so well...the layout its self was a scrap lift from the flying unicorn forums.....I am linking up with Chic tags  for their sunday challenge of misting and lasting memories you had to use 1 photo....and  Archi-scraps for their picture inspiration of Autumn....I tried to pull the colors from the picture but I also added purple flowers...LOl sorry I really liked them...but I did add leaves and there are also leaves in the scraps of papers used to build the background (with the small fairy's)  I tried to match the colors with the rub-on...and of course the brick is for the archway.....

You Brighten Up My Day

So last night the new challenge blog About A Girl posted its very first challenge....Its a wonderful sketch by
Brenshevia...I thought I would give it a shot because I mainly scrap about my two girls so this new challenge blog is a perfect fit!
I decided to use a wonderful picture of my oldest Daughter Samantha from way back in 1999 yeah I know that was a while ago LOL this is when she was still the sweet girl who would still wear dresses and thought pink was pretty and still had hair down to her Butt (you can't tell in the picture because braided) but she had the most beautiful hair....until she turned into a teenager then wanted it all cut off the wonderful thing is she donated it when she had it cut,she left the house with it just below her knees and came home with a bob cut I so wanted to cry!...she still keeps it cut short to this day! :( I am also linking up with A2z Scraplets for their April challenge and also over at paper issues they are celebrate all things Serendipity!
Chance, Fate, Luck, Destiny, Karma, Coincidence....and I guess I am very lucky to have this beautiful girl as my daughter!

Here is the sketch

 Its rather disappointing the banner pennants I mean...because they have been in my stash for a while now and I thought they would look cute on this layout,I had thought they read LAUGH but what it actually read was LAUAH...so not what I wanted LOL so I used a small flower punch and a hole punch and just kind of covered up the lettering.Oh and I am so absent minded lately...I am also linking up with lasting memories for their inspired by a quote challenge!

 I love this thickers border!

Magnificent Spring

Afternoon all.....I was digging through my little stash looking for inspiration to go along with Scrap Your Story's Sketch....I came across a baggie filled with assorted tags/borders from Pink Paislee Queen Bee collection and I thought they were just perfect for what I had in mind....It just so happens over at Lasting memories their challenge is to use your stash...well since I don't have a very big stash this would have to do LOL

 I made these cute little tassels...hehe I love them...the flower puffy stickers were also in my stash but I have no clue who made them.

Here is the sketch...I turned it just a bit ....

.I hand cut the vine like things out of one of the tags....
