Mojo Monday

Last night I was browsing through all the new challenges that came out this month just trying to see if there was one I wanted to try and tackle...I came across the one over at 13Arts (Create a vintage layout with a flower and min 2 mediums - you can use paints, modeling paste, inks, mists, gel medium, gesso...) I really love the idea of vintage pages but sometimes I just go way off the mark LOL
well I decided I would give it a shot but I combined the 13Arts challenge with the Mojo Monday sketch from the Flying Unicorn

I used lots of gesso, mist and inks and a little molding paste to create my background then added some pages from an old book and layered scraps bits of lace and a piece of chip board from Buzz and bloom that I cut in half...anyway here is what I came up with...

I've been on a handmade flower kick lately these three were make just for this layout..they were made out of just scraps I had laying around.

I'm still not sure if I pulled off the vintage feel but I kind of like what I did come up with!

thank you so much for taking the time to visit and check out my latest page!

Gift Box

Just one more project for the day....I think...maybe...
This one I made for the 13arts challenge -Gift challenge:
1. Please create a project inspired by the word GIFT.
2. Incorporate a piece of wrapping paper in your project.
3. Please use in your project at least one medium (like gesso, paint, ink, gel medium, mist etc.).
so....we tend to recycle so I have lots of cereal box's laying around I decided to make my own gift box's this year....I cut out and made a 3.5 inch circle gift box...then used gesso, wrapped the entire thing with gift wrap (not Christmas gift wrap but anniversary/wedding gift wrap) I didn't have any Christmas wrap left...need to but some more lol I wrapped a scrap piece of scrapping paper around the middle

I did paint the side when I was finished...

I used the edge of a Graphic 45 stamp and went around to give a funky pattern
then make a pretty satin bow....ta da pretty present

Bird house

I just wanted to share my little bird house....while I was out with my daughter doing errands the other day I saw this cute little bird house that I thought would be perfect for the 13 arts challenge this month..the theme of their challenge is house.(Your work must also contain at least one recycled element , two types of media and a stamp or a transfer.)

I don't normally do altered projects but I just thought this little house was so cute....I also forgot to take a before picture LOL...anyway this is what I came up with...

I used gesso and paint, inks,a couple rubons some moss my recycled element is the butterfly make out of a cardboard box oh and the little bird was a broken charm it worked perfect on this project!.....I really need to buy a new light for my craft area because the base was suppose to be like a hunter green LOL but as you can see it turned out to be a blue ...I still like it!

Embrace Life

I thought I would give the challenge over at 13Arts a try...A spring challenge all around Butterflies...."Use in your project minimum of 3 butterflies, minimum of 2 media and a lot of green color" I used paint ,misting spray, molding paste with stencil,ribbons....just about anything I could get my hands on...I was just having fun....the only issue I had with the challenge was the green...I'm not big on a whole lot of green so I didn't have much to choose from..I am also linking up with Inkido for their challenge

So I made a tag which of course I titled Embrace Life....It kind of went with the whole spring thing.

Thank you for coming to take a peek at my project!

Here is what I came up with....
I actually love the background and the flowers....but when I look at the whole thing I'm not sure if I like it or not....My daughter likes it,as a matter of fact she wants me to make her some of the big flowers since I used her sewing scraps to make them to begin with I suppose I'll have to make her at least one!

I hand stitched the butterfly....and made the little flowers for the frame....

I used a bit of the fibers (from the left over scraps after making the flower) in the background, I know the effect I wanted but didn't quit achieve it LOL even if I'm not happy with the whole page at least I got to learn how to make these really pretty flowers!

thanks for coming to take a peek....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! :D
