Yes its Monday and the fifth Monday of the month....the New challenge over at Lets Get Sketchy is any thing goes! As part of the design team it wasn't mandatory for us to do inspiration for this challenge but I thought what the heck...I used a sketch from the summer challenge over at The Memory Nest and the theme from lasting Memories which happens to be Christmas in July....
here is what I came up with.......
the twist on the sketch is to use buttons and/or brads...I used plenty of buttons
thanks for taking a peek...Hope everyone has a wonderful Monday!

Face of a angel
yeah I know I just posted but I have one more to share...and I think I like this one much better...as you can see I have an awful time with color challenges but I try to get it as close as I can LOL I used the other sketch from The Memory Nest...all part of their summer challenges....I am also going to participate in the Scrap Your Story DIY challenge...I made the cute flower by hand :)
handmade flower...the title says Face of a Angel....you can't really read it in the pictures no matter how many times I took it LOL
Can you tell I really love my new silhouette cameo...because I really do!
Thanks for coming to take a peek......

I found these wallet size photo's in with all the rest and decided I wanted to use them...I have the 8x10's on the wall but they were too cute not to make a page with..they are 20 years old..haha you know the first born had a whole lot more photos done,I swear I had them done every month until she was three...I used the sketch from The Memory Nest for one their summer challenges.

Theres always a reason to Celebrate
So.....this one was way hard for me....I've never done a double page before they kind of intimidate me just a bit and this sketch challenge for a double layout from swat (scrap warriors advanced training) me totally had me freaked...LOL my daughter thought it was so funny... anyway I started by finding a bunch of pictures...I think this is the most I've ever used on one project...I decided on one of Samantha's Birthday parties...haha totally got her there she hates when I scrap her younger pictures..hehe
Here is what I came up with...
Here is the sketch....
I love the trim on the yellow paper...too bad you can't see it sparkle in the picture :(
I dug thru my stash and found all these little embellishment stickers...I thought they were cute and seemed to fit so nice with the layout.
I replaced the big circle from the sketch with the big cake....
I am also linking up with The memory Nest
thank you so much for coming to take a peek......

Celebrating a wonderful Life
Afternoon....I decided to scrap a couple more pictures from the balloon release we had back in November in honor of my youngest daughters 14th Birthday....She was in a tragic accident just one month before. I followed a sketch from My Memory Nest....
the journaling in the middle says "I looked into your eyes and I saw one of the greatest miracles ever given to me. We miss you everyday!"
there is a slide out journal on the right that is a short poem
"Gentle Savior please look down,
There's someone by your side,
A small bewildered thirteen year old,
That needs you as her guide.You'll know she's Steffie if her smile
could melt a heart of stone;
She's lost, for she has never
In her short life been alone.There was no stain on Steffie's soul,
No hatred and no fear;
You must have loved her even more
Than we who mourn her here.When night falls, could you tuck her in,
And help her with her prayers?
I'd give so much to hear once more
Her footsteps on the stairs.Please kiss her silky brow sometimes,
And give her joy and peace;
The glow she brought to all our lives,
Will never ever cease."
