Darling

Good afternoon my crafty friends, I just wanted to share my latest layout I  did using the sketch from Once Upon A Sketch using their Journaling theme "The women/girls etc in our lives..." and sketch...

I decided on a old picture of my two beautiful daughters...even though there was 6 years between then they we at thick as thieves! I found the picture stashed away in my Stephanie's belongings, she just adored her older sister and even though the picture is scratched and a bit damaged I still wanted to scrap it!

I wanted that layout to portray both their personalities...one was bubbly and a bit girly and the other was the Tomboy and a bit adventurous ....so bubbles and rocks and butterflies seemed to work.... the pictures just don't do this justice at all (I've retaken them three times LOL )

my journaling can be found behind the picture...both tags pull out.....

as you can see lots of paint, some stamping and a couple rubons

you can see some of the damage to the picture here...Gosh only knows what she got on it....its a bit sticky and has scratches makes and is a lil bent...lets just say its well loved!

thank you so much for coming to check out my latest project!

Newest member of the family

Good afternoon my scrappy friends, I wanted to share my latest page. I used the sketch from Once Upon A Sketch the journal prompt this month is anything goes but it has to be handwritten on your layout!
this was the perfect opportunity to introduce the newest member of our extended family...

This is Wrangler, he is a rescue....isn't he the cutest thing,he's so loving and gets along with all his new family members! My best friend/sister is a member of PRONE ~Pug Rescue Of New England, she's a foster Mom even though she ends up Adopting most of them!

I tried to stick close to this months sketch ( Once Upon A Sketch )..I even put the journaling in the right spot LOL
Papers- Tim Holtz, Green flowers- Petaloo...the rest are handmade, stamp -Kaiser craft

Together

Just wanted to share the layout I made for the once upon a sketch challenge, the journaling theme " the best things in life aren't things" the first thing I thought of was Family time...which lead to one of my favorite things we used to do as a family...summer family BBQ's~ it was so easy when the kids were little and we all lived on the East coast, we used to get together every summer the whole family, aunts uncles, grandparents cousins..haha when I say whole family I mean it...it looked like a mob!

this picture is from one of those times my daughter (shes now 21...cries where did the time go) is on the right, with her favorite cousins.
there is hidden journaling behind the picture.

this was the best day ever!

Hi Ya happy scrappers, I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and had fun for National scrapbook day! I know I did I spent the weekend over on the Flying Unicorn forums, they had a ton of challenges and games...so basically I spent the weekend in My pj's scrapping LOL

today I would like to share my layout I made using the sketch from Once Upon A Sketch they gave us an anything goes this month for their journaling theme....of course the first thing I thought of was the week I spent with my best friend in Maine, since we moved to Wisconsin almost five years ago we don't get to see each other that often...we try to visit at least once a year ( sometimes I get lucky and we manage twice a year!)

anyway I used a picture from the view of her new home in N.H. at the top of the mountain...Its just so beautiful! there is a bit of journaling under the picture and more hidden in the little brown paper bag behind the picture!

That day changed everything

I saw the new challenge over at Once upon a sketch last night with the journaling prompt "An event that changed my life..." my thoughts went flying, I could have done the easy way, my children’s births or maybe the day I met the love of my life or better yet the day we got married. All of those things brought huge changes in my life and they are all happy memories but I’ve learned that we also have to scrap the bad ones too so this page is all about therapy!
The event I picked changed the lives all our family and friends…

It took one phone call to altered my world…and things will never be the same again.

I used one of the last picture’s that were ever taken of my 13 year old daughter Stephanie before she past away, I did a whole lot of journaling …you can find some of it behind the picture…My journaling is about the phone call and my panic I still have every time the phone rings, also about being away when it happened (she was with her dad while we were away), about the accident its self… on the back of the layout attached the rest of the journaling and a letter to my Stephanie.
to be honest I think I spent more time on the journaling then I did the layout..but I think it was very therapeutic....

I wanted to thank all the ladies at OUAS because you make me really think about the journaling!

my journalling is private on this one...sorry ladies.its written on the tag in the upper left hand corner of the picture..this page is going in Stephanie's Memorial album.
Journalling Theme: be inspired by this quote..

My Sweet Addiction

Good afternoon scrappers...Just wanted to share the layout I just finished for the  Once upon a sketch challenge...the journaling prompt (Totally addicted to) left me reeling a bit, I just couldn't decide what I wanted to scrap about then it hit me....Coffee ...not just plain coffee (because that's a whole other addiction LOL) this one is my Love for Gloria and Jeans mmm....mmmm....the best caffeine fix there is! Now I don't indulge in this kind of coffee that often, I would have to say maybe four times a year (depends on how many trips we take) and its always on our trips to Maine...one for the way there then one on the way home...
So here is my layout using the sketch...

there is journaling on the tag under the picture on the right, I wrote about how we discovered this awesome little drink on our first trip back to Maine...I can't even remember the name of the drink I get (that's what my husband is for LOL ) all I know is it's Mocha something or other...its frozen has an extra shot of espresso and ground coffee beans with whipped cream and chocolate on top! okay now I want one!

Thanks for coming to take a peek....

Believe in yourself

Good evening my scrappy friends, I thought I would share my latest layout...since I haven't been feeling very well lately this layout took me two days to finish lol I had this idea in my head but I just couldn't get what I wanted on the paper..finally it was to my liking..I decided to combine two challenges, the one from Once Upon a sketch with the journaling criteria of " lesson learned" and then the challenge over at ARTastic extra criteria use of diamonds/triangles.....

I like to keep my journaling personal so I will give you the edited version of the journaling.......there is hidden journaling behind the picture,I decided to journal about my daughter learning to believe in herself and her craft..she knows its okay to be different and she doesn't have to follow the norm...this past year she has taken up commission work on her sewing..she stuck to her gun and her style and this year paid off! haha now she has three costumes (3 different people) due in three months all for the same Convention.

I was inspired by the eyes of the artwork...that's why I chose this picture of my daughter and of course all the diamonds!

May Flowers

I was kind of excited to do the challenge over at Once upon a sketch Journalling Theme: "My favorite month" since we have snow and its so darn cold it was a pleasure to think about my favorite month...which just happens to be May....all the thoughts of pretty flowers and warmer weather....just perfect! I also played along with 123 get scrappy....

here is what I came up with....

there is hidden journaling on the rt the greenish journal tag pulls out...I just explained what makes May my favorite month.

I need to learn how to hold the camera straight LOL

My Happy Place

Hmmm where is your happy place? This month at Once Upon A  Sketch the journaling is about your Happy Place...I didn't even have to think about it....it was a close toss up between family dinners( which we don't have anymore lol everyone has other places to be) or the lake....the lake won...It truly funny that no matter where we have live there was a lake and it was always my favorite place to be...okay that's kind of a fib...when I lived in Connecticut I loved the ocean but everywhere else its been a lake and here is no exception...I used a picture from my favorite spot at Devils lake, we caught the sun setting...I could take a book and sit there for hours....

I did a lot of journaling some is showing but the rest is tucked away....

Oh Happy Day

Good morning scrappers...I decided to work on my layout for the once upon a Sketch challenge, I actually let the journaling kind of dictate what picture I was going to use....I wanted something upbeat and happy....what could be more happy then getting married the love of your life..lol...Journaling Theme: "The Journey..."

My journaling reads: Two pathways for one journey...a start from two to one and the journey has just begun...On this journey of many trials and tribulations the two shall merge as one,
starting on their journey, that has just begun...For love shall conquer all, and will always prevail, for the two that were once apart, will now forever be one...

I stuck a brad under the butterfly so I could swivel the journaling out to read it.

I would also like to share my cupcake card...haha its an over sized cupcake!

thanks for coming to take a peek!

So Lucky

Evening all you happy scrappers, I just wanted to share my latest page I made using the sketch from Once upon a Sketch... the Dt's there have out done themselves.... just so many beautiful layouts...the Journaling Theme: "Lucky" the first thing I thought of when I read the journaling theme was I am so lucky to have an older brother so that was the topic I went with...he is very dear to me and has been my best friend since I was born..there are only two year separating us so we have always been close,he never complained when I would tag along with him and his friends,he taught me how to sneak out,how to fight...geez he was a trouble maker...haha he even married my best Childhood friend, our first children are only two weeks apart...I had the 2 girls and he had 2 boys...even though we don't live in the same state anymore we are still very close and talk all the time!

I played a lot with texture paste and some mists...

I'm not sure if you can see it in the pictures but I also used this shimmer spritz so its kind of shiny too...the hearts are made out of duct tape and I sanded theme just a bit and listed them too and it gave such a cool effect
my journaling is hidden behind the pictures.....

I have one more thing to share...its a card I made the other night but forgot to post, I used the sketch from Pamela's world of scrap ...I turned the layout sketch into a card sketch

thank you so much for coming to take a peek!
