Happy Birthday

So as I said in my last post I received several things to play with from Scrapsalot and alcohol inks were one of them, I've always wanted to play with them but just couldn't get my hands on any...until now....and I have to say I love them and will be playing with them often!
for my project this week I combined the newly done alcohol inked background with this super cute stamp set from Lawn Fawn...

the set is called really high five and it's absolutely adorable! I added the Waffle Flower Sun Shine Panel Die

I really loved the bright colors in the background... every time I look at this card I just smile.

Make sure you stop by scrapsalot she carries a little bit of everything from scrapbooking, cardmaking a little bit of mixed-media!

Old time Jukebox

I was super excited when I received this set of stamps It's from Sugar Peas and its called Jukebox Jive...hehe how awesome is that!
all stamps and inks can be found at the scrapsalot shop Debra has a little bit of everything...

I'll apologize right now I took a tin of photos...I was trying to get the sparkle of the gel pens that I used to make it look like metal, they were metallic and sparkly LOL

I thought this Jukebox would look awesome on a surprise pop-up card

the top sentiment is from a Honey bee's set called for the record they blend perfectly with the sugar peas stamp set
I can see using this set a whole lot...there are so so many options and its great for masculine cards too
Thanks for stopping by and checking out my latest project, make sure you swing by scrapsalot and see what she has to offer. Have a wonderful week and stay safe and Healthy!

Imprint on my heart

I so love this stamp set heart prints from sugar pea designs especially this imprint one...I'm thinking I might do a rainbow one with this stamp 😁 I think I'm getting closer to the perfect Valentine for my husband, I really like the black and white with just a touch of red...this is more his style but maybe a couple too many hearts LOL all stamps and inks are from the scrapsalot shop make sure you stop by there and see what they have to offer!

I used Concord and 9ths heart turnabout stamp with Catherine poolers midnight ink...I think I only turned it three times that's why there are some places without hearts...haha as I am writing this up I'm thinking maybe to should have done the fourth turn with red ink 🤔 always an afterthought!

I adore you-Valentine fun

I've been trying to come up with the perfect Valentine for my husband...I don't think this one is it LOL but I'm getting closer...maybe not so much pink! But I do love how this one turned out and it was so unexpected...

see I was playing with some Nuvo shimmer powders (making funky backgrounds) then I remembered seeing someone stamp using the shimmer powders and I thought cool let's try that ...haha that's how it always starts... I used my new stamp set from Sugar pea called heart prints and the simple heart die from them also. I sprinkled (tapped) some powder onto the stamp and then spritzed with water (I should have stamped the first time on scratch paper but live and learn) after the first impression I used my water brush to make sure the pigment/powder/ink was on the right part of the stamp I will say a little powder goes a long way I never added more just kept using the water brush to move it around

all items (except cardstock) used on this card came from Scrapsalot - she carries a little bit of everything from simple scrapbooking all the way to Mixed media!

I randomly stamped my background...yes I had to say that and I strategically place that panel over a spot that had a big void LOLI picked the sentiment I adore you from the same set...as you can see some of them are cockeyed but that's what I love about handmade items nothing is perfect!

Caffeinated shark atc

So I'm taking a break from the holiday cards LOL I feel like this shark looks... this is an awesome stamp set from the rabbit hole design, I've never used any of their items until now and I love the quality of these stamps and they are a bit snarky LOL

I am a coffee fiend, I truly don't even speak until I have my first cup of coffee...yeah it's that bad LOL
all items used can be found at Scrapsalot Shop
I decided to make an ATC, for those who don't already know an ATC stands for artist trading card... you swap these with other artists ( Kind of like baseball cards LOL ) they normally measure 3 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches

I started by stamping and cutting out my image (scan and cut) did a quick coloring with some alcohol markers, nothing fancy just Ohuhu markers then I wanted to start layers some color on my background...I used a bunch of distress oxides (listed below) and a cute stencil from hero arts... at this point, something was missing..you know you stare at your project...I decided the shark would need a bit of a shadow...still not sure if that's what was missing but that's what I added...I pulled a few sequins to look like bubbles and voilà its all done

Products used from Scrapsalot Shop

Distress oxides- Faded jeans, tumbled glass, blueprint sketch, and broken china Oh and black soot
Archival ink -Jet black
Blending brush
Lawn fawn stamp shammy

quick 3x3 Christmas cards

This year I made a few 3x3 cards to add to a small gift in place of a tag... here is just one design... I used the cute stamp set from Lawn Fawn HoHo holidays I love the cute Santa in this set!
This stamp set and all the inks used on the card can be found at Scrapsalot Shop

to make my life easier I stamped all my images and scanned them to my silhouette portrait to be cut out (scan and cut cheapo version LOL) so I have a stack of images to choose from and it helps when you need that extra card
here is a sample of what I was talking about...I normally have just a couple but I did these for special Christmas cards I'm making with a friend so I was trying to get ahead of the game LOL as I was saying I'll keep at least one set in the back of the stamp set ready to go.

Products used from Scrapsalot Shop

Distress oxides- Broken china, tumbled glass, faded jean and dusty concord

Holly Jolly- More Christmas cards

I'm working on more Christmas cards.. this time I used a bunch of crafty goodness from Scrapsalotllc.com. Debra (owner of scrapsalot) sent me a bit of flock in each color she had, at first I wasn't sure what to do with it besides pet it lol but then I remember a cut die I had from Penny black. I di cut the mitten, bow and candy cane out of some flock I love the dimension it gives and also the feel 😁

now for the really fun part...I took the new Holly confetti de die from Hero Arts and made a paper stencil...yes I could have just used the die but I was going for a different feel. I used a couple different green and red distress oxides! I totally love how it turned out.
since I couldn't find the right shade of green for my matte layer I used the same green distress oxides and just kind of swiped the edge it looks random and a bit distressed
I hope you'll head on over to the Scrapsalot Shop and see what Debra has to offer!

Free Bookmarks

It's about that time already, the parents are scrambling around getting school supplies ready...I really don't miss that! Anyway last I started making bookmarks and dropping them off at the little free library boxes we have around town...I usually put them in a children's book or a young adults book...they make for a nice surprise. Here are two I just finished, I just need to laminate them and they will be done I'll be making at least 10 more in the next couple of weeks... the little libraries have more activity the closer it gets to school starting...haha probably trying to get all their summer reading done!

thanks for stopping by...

there are so many cute stamp sets to play with... this one is called perfect popsicle from Sunny Studio and it's a layering stamp...now I'll be the first to admit I was a wee bit intimidated by layering stamps but this one is fairly easy to layer as long as you know what your looking for LOL

Creative ideas

First I'd like to take a moment and that Debra from Scrapsalot...without her and her new design team I wouldn't have some of the wonderful tool/toys to play with...so thank you so very much...being on your team has been a blast so far!
So now that is out of the way I have to ask...Do you dream about project ideas? I know I do...My problem is remembering them when I get up LOL okay so I had a dream about this wicked cool die from Hero arts it's their beach frame fancy die  which by its self is really cool and pretty, I've made a couple different beach scene cards with it,

but I like versatility when I buy crafty stuff I hold it in my hand and try to think of three things this could make before I but it LOL I know it sounds insane (drives my husband crazy) but I don't have a lot of space and I don't want a bunch of just too look at it. Now die's are different especially this one since it came in my design team bundle...Yeah it's beautiful and it's intricate but its beach very specific LOL so back to the dream...it was about this die but when I woke I couldn't remember ...it drove me crazy for days until yesterday when it hit me...the top of the die reminded me of Fir tree (Christmas tree)

Just look at that... it looks like your peeking through snow covered trees... is it sad I'm super excited about this... I think I just found my Christmas cards this year!
I justed lined up the die in the middle of my panel but only ran the top portion through my machine then took it out and turned the die around on the same panel... I tried to line it up... it lines up pretty well there is only one small section you'll have to cut with a craft knife... it's really really tiny though LOL

Now think of using the negative of the die cut you just did as a mask... ink around and over it in shades of green... haha I did it looks like a jungle... now I just need to add something in the center... I'll share that when I figure it out!

Things I used that you can get from Scrapsalot

Distress Inks
Catherine Pooler midnight and grass
Hero art Fancy frame die
Hero Art stamps (don't think she has this one but has stamps)
waffle flower enamel dots

Colour Week #283

I had to laugh at this weeks color challenge over at Less is More , color are of our/your own kitchen. the reason I laughed is because the kitchen is so NOT my domain it's my husbands!
We have talked about redoing it since we bought this place about five years ago but every time we get ready something else needs to be done first...like busted water pipe,a leak in the roof haha I guess cosmetic stuff get s put on the back burner...Anyway our kitchen has a wide variety of colors (to say the least) but I picked the most prominent ones brown/wood tone and yellow...
