Sisters

Evening my scrappy friends..I just wanted to share a layout I made with the Keeping the best sketch..this one was a bit rough for me because I don't really like the starburt effect on my layouts but I managed to make it work

I tried to cut down all the pink with the white ribbon lol it wasn't very effective but I do love the end result!
Oh and I flipped the sketch!

Fly Free and other projects

Good evening lovely scrappy people..I have a couple things I want to share and figured I would just put it all in one post LOL ...First is a layout I did for Keeping the best..they have a fabulous sketch that went live on the 11th....if your on my FB you've probably seen the pictures of the butterfly that was trapped on my porch...gosh it was so pretty...I scooped him up and set him free...but took pictures before he flew away...I decided to use those for this sketch...

 I mirrored the sketch......

my next layout I used a sketch from Pamela's World of Scraps......I make this page for my daughter album since technically its her cat lol

now my last thing to share....Over on the Flying Unicorn forum they have a challenge called Sweet....You can create any type of candy holder you so desire BUT the rule is you can not alter a box or a dish or a glass ... the holder must be made using 100% paper

so here is what I made....

The End of Summer

Since its the end of summer I just had to make a layout of the things I will miss about summer...most of it I wrote in journaling on the back but I am sure you all understand what I'm talking about! I didn't really stress how this would turn out,I just kind of went with it and love how it ended...I did use the sketch from keeping the best and the criteria from Scrap for Help ( to use soda can clip) I am also entering this in the take the challenge over at Faber-Castell ....here is what I ended up with.

the soda clips or tabs as we call them just seemed to fit this layout so it worked in my favor!

Challenges Entered
Keeping the Best -sketch
Scrap for Help-soda can clip
Faber-Castell Take the challenge

thanks for taking the time to come and check out my latest project!

Birthday bash

haha seems like a theme this morning first the birthday card post and now a birthday layout!

I used the sketch from Keeping the best...I love to go over there and check out the Dt's and players they have some really beautiful projects and so much inspiration! Its just so cool to see so many different styles!

I stuck really close to the sketch this time....I kind of flipped it so all my stuff is opposite that of the sketch.

My favorite place

Good afternoon my scrappy friends....I just wanted to share a page I just finished...I used the sketch from Keeping the best

Here is what I came up with...

I flipped the sketch...I used the beautiful papers from 7 Dots Studio for the background and embellishments, this is the first time I've attempted to make rolled flowers, they came out pretty good...the rest of the layout was made with scraps from my bin.

I Adore "Days like this"

Good afternoon scrappy people.....yes I am quite the good mood today I have no clue why..lol I just wanted to share  a page I did this morning...I used a sketch from Keeping the best and used A2Z scraplets challenge criteria and came up with this....

I took some plain card stock and used texture paste and ink to create my own background....I am really kind of thrilled with how it came out..

Love the texture...but I might use different colors next time!

sugar and spice

Sugar and spice and everything nice that's what little girls are made of...
Sunshine and rainbows and ribbons for hair bows that's what little girls are made of...
Tea parties, laces and baby doll faces that's what little girls are made of...

those are the first things I thought of when I pulled this picture out......I used the sketch from keeping the best and this is what I came up with!

I had a bunch of really cute rubons that I've been wanting to use and this was the perfect layout for them!

Life is Beautiful

I had this really cool Black and White photo my best friend took....its really nothing special but some oars the kids threw in the yard instead of putting them away, after she took the picture we both kind of fell in love with it but we won't tell the kids that LOL...
I used a sketch from Keeping the best and this is what I came up with!

another beautiful view

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend....mine was quiet, which is always a plus in my house! I decided to keep busy and did a couple layouts, read a couple tutorials basically bounced from blog to blog looking for some sort of inspiration....I had a wonderful sketch from Keeping the best but I wasn't sure what i wanted to do with it.....I've never used texture paste before so this is my first attempt....I didn't have a stencil but I did have a piece my daughter cut out (template she used for some project) its heavy weight paper so I thought I could use that... here is what I came up with....

Picture is from the white mountains in North Conway N.H.

here is the sketch # 56

this is how my textured pasted worked out, I also misted it....
I love these lace bits my daughter Samantha gave them to me,they were left overs of one of her projects...haha I get all the left overs!

Sea Stacks

Good afternoon all...I wanted to share my latest page....I used another wonderful picture from my penpal, the picture just doesn't do the beauty justice....These ghostly formations are called "Sea Stacks" eroded from the shore on the pacific coast, its also a part of the Olympic National Park. I used the latest sketch from Keeping the best and am also linking up with S.W.A.T for their basic training-playing with mists.
I really love the idea of having script in the background,I know they make stamps but I haven't been able to get my hands on one just yet so I decided to try something a bit different.....if you know me at all I love my photo shop and have a ton of brushes, well one happens to have love letter, postcards and stuff like that ...I used one, made sure to reverse the lettering and printed it onto Parchment Paper(one side is parchment and the other is foil) then I just placed it where I wanted it and rubbed the back and ta da...it gave me just the effect I wanted..the misting was a whole other story LOL

Here is the sketch......

I used a bit of Gesso because I wanted a bit of texture when I misted....

I knew what I wanted but wasn't quit sure how to achieve it...like I said  a bit of gesso, then I used a light metallic blue mist,I sprayed the same spot until there was plenty then just moved the paper so the mist would roll around...I wanted a marble like effect...its trial and error until I got what I wanted....but still ran into a problem....the metallic blue was a bit too shiny for me....I decided to use a golden yellow to tone it down a bit....I waters down the paint and just brushed a bit where I wanted it...it still shiny but not as much LOL

thank you for coming to take a peek,I appreciate all comments, they always bring a much needed smile to my face!

No name post lol

yeah I know lame...I just couldn't think of a name but I really wanted to share this page tonight since I am seriously thinking of getting off the computer for the night...even though I doubt I'll sleep *eye roll*
I used a sketch # 51 from Keeping the best .....

Sorry this picture came out a bit blurry....
Here is their sketch

I stuck really close to the sketch.....

I really love this frame....its actually a digital stamp I printed out lite chipboard I used an embossing tool around the circle part to make it pop just a bit (can't really see in the picture LOL)

 Thanks for taking a peek.....
