Week #289 One Layer

Its one layer card week over at Less Is More and the theme is French....Don't laugh but the first though was french bread LOL second thought was the Eiffel Tower...so I went with the second thought...the only saw one problem, the stamp I have of the Tower is only 2 inches. I am all for the whole Less is more thing but I thought it needed a bit of color so I went with the colors of their flag (blue white and red) I looked it up just to be sure LOL I just used my stamping block and swiped my distress markers across...spritzed a bit of water...instant color!

Stamps from BoBunny,Studio G Ranger Archival ink and distress markers

LIM Week 284

okay so I took a quick glance at the new challenge over on the  Less is More blog....for some reason I missed the ONE LAYER part the first time I read it...all I saw was the theme Time LOL so I had an idea of with a clock die cut....needless to say I had to scrap that idea but I still able use the clock as a mask and create this card...I'll just use it as a generic note card...

this is the quote I used on my card.

Week #276 One Layer Card

Here is my take on the one layer challenger over at Less is More...theme is at Sea....
I love this image of the light house and ocean/beach/water LOL so I just had to use it....I put a piece of ragged edged card stock over the image and sponged some ink around the edge....to me it gives it almost a layered look...I really like how it turned out!

Week 267 One Layer Sentiment

So I had what I thought was a good idea for this challenge over at Less is more....lets just say it didn't quite turn out the way I saw it in my head lol...

anyway I wanted to make a thank you card with a big bold  thanks on the front of the card,I cut out a a thanks to use as a mask and sponged around it with some ink...so far so good I liked it....then I used the flat end of a skewer dripped in paint to go around the masking again :( it did turn out how I pictured it.....it looks so messy  .... but its how we learn LOL

So I took my idea in a different direction same thanks and out lining but I used my silhouette pens instead and I think this makes a cute thank you note card

Less is more Week 263

So I decided to play again over at the less is more challenge blog...this week is a one layer card they would also like you to include a stem...this was also a good reason to work on my coloring, I used water color pencils....I couldn't resist adding some paint splatters at the end, they don't show very well in the photos but look great in person!

thanks so much for coming by to take a peek!
