Best Birthday Ever

another Monday and another new sketch over at Lets Get Sketchy....even though its not my week I still decided to play along...
I used pictures from one of Samantha's Birthdays...this one sticks out in my mind because she so wanted a Lion King birthday cake and I couldn't find anyone who would make one at the time...So I took it upon myself to make one haha I went to bed crying the night before her Birthday party because the frosting was So darn orange when it was suppose to be yellow.....I guess the coloring needed to settle because when I woke up it was perfect! well as perfect as I was going to make it anyway!
I combined the sketch with two other challenges this week...the first one is Lasting Memories - their challenge was to use birds or bees in your project! And the other is The Paper girls - their challenge is to use water colors.

I used water colors for the background and there are bird cut outs on the balloons

Little "Princess"

I just love these photo's they were just a wee bit off  center so putting them in a normal frame just didn't work,I have a couple in a collage but really wanted to use them on a page the faces she was making are priceless ...Of course Lets Get Sketchy had the perfect sketch for these little beauties! I wish I had a picture of her without the bib on...that was one of my favorite outfits!

I am also linking this page to the Paper Girls Challenge ,I used flowers......
Here's the sketch I used....
using this sketch was awesome because I was able to cut the pictures down so mow they look kind of centered (yeah I know I could of done that to begin with but didn't think about it until I saw the sketch LOL)

My attempt at flowers again...I like the pink ones but a little iffy on the blue one LOL its funny I made both pink ones the same way and they look totally different..maybe I smushed one more then the other!
the tag reads: The love of a child makes you change and become all that they will aspire to.The blessing of a child makes you appreciate life and hold on to those little hands that God has given to you. I also added the date of the pictures and a bit of back story on the back of the tag. I tend to do a whole lot of journaling after the page is finish and I've had time to think about it! sometimes I even have to write on the back.
the pink paper with the butterflies is scrap from the Mini album (you can see that post here) I just finished and thought it would look cute on this layout...the princess crown and the background paper I actually won on lets get sketchy for their Birthday blog celebration....thank you Lovely ladies :)

Thank you for taking the time to come take a peek...I appreciate every and all comments(they really make my day!)

Let it snow

Oh I love this page...its just too sweet, I used pictures of Samantha...I don't have a date for them but she was still little (shes 20 now so it was awhile ago LOL ) of course she was at her grandparents house....at the time I worked two full time jobs so it seemed like she was always there....I really don't miss working that much..haha..
I used the sketch from Lets Get Sketchy, one of my favorite places to play...all the ladies are wonderful! I am also linking up with The Paper Girls for their snowflake challenge.

still can't take a straight picture lol

I found this cute little quote in my stash of stuff (thanks Debbie) it says "you have the face of an angel with your beautiful smile. No one can resist those eyes...what undeniable style!" Linda Price
here is the sketch......

Christmas 2003

Good morning.....I wanted to share a layout I did for Lets Get Sketchy wk1.....since they had a color combo this time I just kept the theme of Christmas which also went with snowflakes... which happen to be apart of the challenge over at The Paper Girls

I tried to match the colors the best I could with what I had..... I also had all of these lovely chipboard pieces that I just couldn't resist using...

I had the hardest time trying to find snowflakes even back in December I just couldn't find any in the stores here....at the time I ended up buying this cute little mesh like bag that had these snowflakes on it...it cost like .50 cents.....so I just cut them out...LOL

special thanks...

I created this tag to send to a friend as a special thank...she has been so wonderful to me over the last couple of months, I know its not much but she will appreciate that is was made with love and some of the crafty bits I had a hand.

I wrapped on heart in some extra washi tape...actually it was from a package I received a week ago..the sender had used it on the package and I couldn't resist peeling it off it was so pretty...lol don't judge me it was pretty! the second heart I wrapped in embroidery floss since I had some on hand..
I decided to add this lag to two challenges on is Scrap Africa ....you had to use hearts...and the other is The Paper Girls....you had to use washi tape
thanks for coming to take a peek...I hope she likes it!
