Scrap Africa Mood Board Challenge no.73

I really loved the colors on the mood board over at Scrap Africa....I tried to incorporate as many as I could into my background but I also like the first image on the mood board...it reminded me of stacking so I tried to get that same feel with my stencil...I used basic water colors for multiple layers then I used distress ink with the stencil....I couldn't help but splash some plain water at the end...I love the splotches it leaves!

Scrap Africa Mood Board no.71

here is my take on the new challenger over at Scrap Africa....they have an awesome mood board with some bright orange and blue and the cutest little robot....as you can tell those are the things that caught my eye....I thought those things would make a cute boy card...so that's just what I did...
I just had to create a robot using my silhouette Portrait and make it into a paper piecing of sorts....I think its kind of cute...

Scrap Africa

Over at Scrap Africa they have a Fabulous Retro mood board to use for this challenge...at first I wasn't really sure what I was going to do....I loved the suitcases  but in the end it was the colors and the roller skate that caught my eye so I dug through my scraps and came out with these wonderful colors....
I decided to make a retro card.....

Scrap Africa No.49

The challenge this month over at Scrap Africa is to use a pencil on your project!

It took me awhile to figure out what I was going to make....I decided on a card (as you can see LOL ) I have a Silhouette portrait and some sketch pens :( but since it said pencil I rigged my machine ( well the pencil to fit the machine) so I could do a sketch in pencil...normally I just use the sketch feature to write out journaling cards because my hand writing kind of sucks :) but I really like how this turned out...yeah yeah its kind of a basic card but it was my first try LOL I swear the next one will be better!

Scrap Africa

Evening my scrappy friends...I know its been awhile, I am just getting over a nasty cold that my hubby gave me :( so this is the first crafty thing I've done in over a week!
I used the mood board from Scrap Africa to create a cute note pad cover (post-it notes on the inside) they will make a cute gift for Easter or even a little something on mothers day!

the whole post it idea came from Lainie over at the flying unicorn

the color yellow and the pretty flowers are what inspired me in this mood board!

Cardabilies #117

Good afternoon my scrappy friends, I wanted to share a pretty card with you all! I used the new sketch from  Cardabilities  and the new challenge over at Scrap Africa which calls for die cuts!

die cuts used 4 different leaves and a fancy flourish....

just a note I followed Michelle's small tutorial on layering from the flying unicorn forum

Moonpie

here is my latest layout, I used the sketch from Scrap Africa, I'm not really a pink kind of person but I think it looks good here! I used a couple of Lindsy's stamp gang mists so this layout really sparkles in the right kind of lighting...I couldn't resist using this picture of my best friend and her little Moonpie (such a cute nickname for him)...I just love this picture!

Just a note

Good afternoon my crafty friends....I feel I like I haven't posted too much on here lately :( not that I haven't been crafting I just haven't been posting LOL

but today I would like to share a card I made using the sketch from Scrap Africa when the sketch first came out I had all the intentions of making a layout hehe I even started one but then the idea just flew right out of my head and I just kind of stared at my page....I really hate when that happens...but this morning I was cleaning out some files and saw the sketch again and had a card idea (which I did right away so I wouldn't loose the thought LOL )

Happy Kitty

Hi ya my scrappy friends...I wanted to share a bit of news that I've been really excited about...since I made the top 3 at Scrap Africa I was asked to be a Guest Designer for the December 1st challenge...I was so darn excited that I think I had my layout done within 24 hours....which killed me because I couldn't share it..I had to wait over three weeks LOL.....So since the challenge has been posted I thought I would share my take on the sketch that I was given...

thank you for coming to take a peek at my latest project!
I hope you'll play along with the new sketch over at Scrap Africa!

TAG IT

Evening my scrappy friends....let me just tell you I was really excited to see the new challenge over at Scrap Africa.....its called "TAG IT"

Tags are so versatile and can be used in so many ways!
So our challenge to you is to use your tags and show us what you can do with them.
Please just make sure that you use at least 2 tags.
You can create a page, card or OTP project.
anyway...as I was saying I was excited because I had these cute little Christmas tags I printed out awhile back but they were too small (yes yes I have issues with measurements LOL ) for the project I wanted to use them for...so I just kind of tucked them away with all the other miscalculated items (there are lots and lots) I really try not to waste much....in the end it will all get used!
so these tags were the perfect size for a Christmas card :)

a little ink.... a little stamp....add a bow..and..Tada a cute Christmas card!

Get well card

Good afternoon my scrappy friends, its a pretty miserable day here its all rainy and cold! I was hoping for a bit of sun this weekend....I can only hope to see it tomorrow!
So I wanted to share a little card I made using the new sketch from Scrap Africa

sorry the picture really doesn't do this card any justice...I took so many and this was the best out of two batches... I think it was a combo of bad lighting and really light colors or maybe its just my crappy camera abilities LOL
thanks for coming to take a peek! Have a wonderful weekend! :)

Autumn in the air

WoW its been awhile since I've done a layout...so I thought I would tackle a couple challenge in one swoop...I hope no body minds...I check out the rules and none seemed against it!
So I used the sketch from C'est Magnifique kits....and combined the criteria from Southern girls challenge which "was words on your project" I figured the title and the background paper cover that pretty good and the criteria fro Scrap Africa which is "list it" I did list the top 12 thing I miss about living in Maine (it can be found in the envelop on my layout)

I decided on a fall theme because that was one of the things on my list...I miss the fall colors in Maine here we don't have those bright vivid colors...I used some beautiful papers from Maja Design I had gotten from
C'est Magnifique kits.

the picture were sent by my best friend she knows how much I miss the colors so she sends me knew ones every fall!

My List:
1.Fall Colors (they just aren't quite as bright here)
2.The sun (seems to shine more in Maine)
3. Trick or treaters (we have had two in the last five years LOL)
4.Decorations (everyone in our old neighborhood used to decorate for all the holidays)
5.Our old house
6.My bestest friend
7.Family Most of our family lives in the New England area)
8.Our old yard
9.Ginny's Flowers
10.The boys( my nephews)
12. Chinese Food (its just not the same here..they even call things by a different name)

thanks for coming to take a peek! Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!

Beach Babe

Good afternoon my scrappy friends, I just wanted to share my layout I did for the Scrap Africa challenge...their sketch this time just screamed beach,so I pulled out my paper house endless summer papers...I really like the patterns and backgrounds but I'm not a glitter type person...every time I take this pack out there is glitter everywhere!(those green circles on the layout are all glitter) now I have it in my hair all over my desk LOL I off set the pattern paper on a piece of coordinating cardstock...
I did a bit of fussy cutting (out of a piece of scrap) because I really wanted the surfboard and waves..added some coordinating (well they looked like they coordinated to me LOL)  paint drops

all in all I like how it turned out...now I have to clean up all the glitter and hide the rest of that paper!
thank you so much for coming to take a peek at my last project! Oh and Have a Fabulous Weekend!!!
