Over at one layer simplicity the theme this month is Art.. and I was kind of excited because I just got a new stamp (from Unity Stamp) that would go along perfect for this challenge :)
I wanted to add color to the background of my card so I took some painters tape and stuck it to my stamping block (Love the texture it leaves behind) I used my Distress markers to color on the tape them gave it a slight mist of water and applied it to my card stock..I did this three times with the colors barn door, mustard seed and faded jeans...I made sure to overlap.....after I added the sentiment I did a tiny bit of light splatter...

CAS(E) this Sketch #183
Using the new sketch from Cas(e) this sketch I created this super cute card! I am so happy with how this card turned out! I used some blue painters tape, cut into strips and added to my stamping block then used some distress markers on top of the tape to create the background.....Love this effect! I went through my very small stamp stash (I have mostly sentiments) and when I couldn't find anything I wanted to use I went searching the internet ......I can upon tons of cute clipart pieces....I really thought this one worked well so I turned it into a print and cut file with my silhouette portrait and finally I used a sentiment from Bo Bunny

OLS26: As You Wish April
The new challenge over at one layer simplicity is "As you wish." from the movie The Princess Bride.... I have to say I have never seen this movie...I've heard about it and even seen it mentioned in other movies LOL
anyway here is my card for the challenge....I used a couple different stamps...Collage Butterfly is from Kaisercraft....I really wanted to use that bottom butterfly on that stamp for the right hand corner,I tried to do a mirror image but it just kept getting smudged so I pulled out my stampin up butterfly. then there is the sentiment from Bo Bunny. I used my distress markers to color the bottom two and then scribbled on my stamping block, added a spritz of water and added it to the top left....

PopUp Challenge
Kathy over at the Daily Marker has a Pop Up Challenge going on and I decided to play along.....
this has to do with lines...she has some really nice videos on her blog explaining everything...here is what I made...
it reminds me of patchwork or stain glass... I used a fat sharpie to make my lines and distress makers to color them in.....when I was finished I added some of those eyelashes Kathy was talking about....after that I took a very wet paint brush and splattered water on top and laid a paper towel to soak up the drops after a few seconds...I love the effect it gives!
REMINDER … it’s all about lines. Any line of any kind. Just don’t stress and have some fun. Don’t forget if you post your photo with some popcorn you have a chance at winning a goodie bag in addition to the daily prizes but, the popcorn is just for fun NO requirement
