The color challenge this month over at One-layer Simplicity challenge is Red, Orange and Yellow on your one-layer card.I'm kind of late this month playing along but here is my my take.....

OLS30 August Art

Over at one layer simplicity the theme this month is Art.. and I was kind of excited because I just got a new stamp (from Unity Stamp) that would go along perfect for this challenge :)
I wanted to add color to the background of my card so I took some painters tape and stuck it to my stamping block (Love the texture it leaves behind) I used my Distress markers to color on the tape them gave it a slight mist of water and applied it to my card stock..I did this three times with the colors  barn door,mustard seed and faded jeans...I made sure to overlap.....after I added the sentiment I did a tiny bit of light splatter...

OLS29 Christmas in July

One Layer Simplicity Challenge- Christmas in July

I started by masking off a section to highlight my image and inking around it.....the I used my stamp.....I love this Penguin stamp,its just too cute! I colored him with distress makers...added a bit of glitter to the rim and ball of the hat...I added a couple snowflake stamps which I heat embossed using Holographic embossing powder so they sparkle!

all in all I like how it turned out!

One-Layer Simplicity Challenge- STENCIL

I was kind of excited when I saw this months challenge over at One-Layer Simplicity Challenge add a stenciled background or just a hint of a stenciled area on your card...my only issue was which stencil to use LOL I ended up using this one because it seemed to go the best with my card idea.....

OLS27 Fruit Smoothie

Here is my take on the one layer simplicity challenge Fruit Smoothie...I chose to use these cute strawberries as my fruit...I used watercolors to color my image and a sentiment stamp from Penny Black.

OLS26: As You Wish April

The new challenge over at one layer simplicity is "As you wish." from the movie The Princess Bride.... I have to say I have never seen this movie...I've heard about it and even seen it mentioned in other movies LOL
anyway here is my card for the challenge....I used a couple different stamps...Collage Butterfly is from Kaisercraft....I really wanted to use that bottom butterfly on that stamp for the right hand corner,I tried to do a mirror image but it just kept getting smudged so I pulled out my stampin up butterfly. then there is the sentiment from Bo Bunny. I used my distress markers to color the bottom two and then scribbled on my stamping block,added a spritz of water and added it to the top left....

OLS25 - Let Green 'March' In

I'm sharing my take on the latest challenge over at One-Layer Simplicity Challenge which is  to Create a card using shades of green and one other neutral on your white card

 

OLS24 - Friends

I decided to play along over at One-Layer Simplicity challenge......there are only two requirements for this challenge one is it has to be a one layer card (of course LOL ) and the second is the use of the word Friend/friends/friendship....you get the point...

here is my take....
I was very excited to use the cherry blossom stamp and the tiny butterflies I have no clue who made them (they were a gift from a friend) and they were unmounted....at the time she gave them to me I had no clue what I was going to do with them LOL

I still need to work on my inking...its still blotchy....I keep practicing :)

One layer Simplicity challenge No19

I wanted to play along with the new challenge over at One layer Simplicity challenge....Challenge #19 Strip Down.. I used my Tim Holtz  stencil called rays with some distress inks(squeezed lemon and evergreen bough)...I've been wanting to use these cute lil birds from Alley way stamps the set is called lighter than air...they worked perfectly for this card!

OLS18 Sparkle and Shine

One Layer Simplicity Challenge....here is my take on their Sparkle and shine challenge...I've had this little wheel of Gems for quite some time now (one of my thrift store finds) and this was the perfect time to bust them out....
I used a tear drop shape for the leaves and a round gem for the flower center!

One layer Simplicity challenge circles

I thought I would give the new challenger over at one layer simplicity challenge a try.....make a one layer card that has two circles on it. No more no less. Other shapes, words etc allowed.

so I made a stencil of two different size circles and used some distressed ink in two different colors.
