All Smiles

its funny when you look at a picture and all those memories come flying back.....this picture was taken one thanksgiving weekend,we had taken a road trip from Maine to Connecticut to visit my family...both girls loved these trips..me not so much lol I hate being the car for any length of time!

Beautiful Views of Seattle

So I have even more pictures from my pen-pal...this time they are of Seattle and the beautiful skyline....I love these pictures! I couldn't wait to scrap them....I used a sketch from Sketchabilities its a wonderful sketch but for some reason I had a really hard time with it....not sure if it was the papers I picked or just the mood I was in.. I started the layout yesterday but I just wasn't happy with it.....So I played around......then I decided to just sleep on it LOL Nothing like dreaming of demon paper!
So this morning with fresh eyes I still had no idea what was wrong....just that I didn't like it LOL

I was still having no luck.....I pulled out the gesso ( I really need to invest in some stencils) I just used some scrap mess I had around it has a better effect with ink but I thought I would try.....I like some of it but it mostly looks like globs..lol......here is the sketch......

see its a beautiful sketch.....I just couldn't wrap my head around this one for some reason!

 the flowers are all made by me....I took some of my daughters teenie tiny beads for the centers....LOVE the flowers!

 see the close up doesn't look so bad...Love the little hearts at the top above the pictures...they are all soft and fuzzy..

Evening scrappers.....I wanted to share a layout I did today all the papers I used are from quick quotes. I used a a wonderful picture of Stephanie....shes pouting because my girl friend Ginny kept tell her to smile so she could take more pictures lol they were at the lake for one of the boys birthday parties....she looks like a drowned rat~
 I used the sketch from Lets Get Sketchy and I am also linking up with Zeus and Zoe for their February LOVE challenge...

I really need to learn how to take a straight picture.....

 I love the pieces that were included the this kit...I didn't want to hit the saying under the picture so I cut some of it out to make it overlap :)

My first attempt at scrapbooking

Over at scrapfriends they wanted a look at your first scrappy page, that's pretty easy for me since I've only been doing this since November.... This was my fist attempt at scrapbooking

My daughter Stephanie and her two best friends Alex and Keagen,these are the last pictures of Stephanie, she's the whole reason I started scrapbooking....I started with these pictures because I always wanted to remember that smile on her face,her giggles as she eggs them on. Its been an amazing way to remember her,also a great distraction/copping mechanism...So this was my first page,I think I've come a long way in the last couple of months even learned a trick or two....I've decided to make an album for her grandparents for theirs I started with baby pictures and hit some big moments its more of an overview I guess but I know they will enjoy it....Her grandmother has seen my pages since we email constantly but she has no clue I am making one for her........ I even ventured to make an album for my best friend (who's kids are in this page) since she has three boys and three dogs it makes for some great practice LOL

Watch the flowers Bloom

Here is yet again another picture from my penpal...I cherish these pictures so much because there are so many places out there that I want to see but sometimes its just not possible to get to all of them....he says these are from "Views from Butchart Gardens ( yes he numbered the pictures and then wrote out what each and everyone was from there are 18 in total from this batch most are from Seattle some are from Vancouver Island, Britsh Columbia,Canada) I just loved the fountain in the background!

I used the sketch from Skissedilla #196 and I also added the rosettes that S.W.A.T showed me how to make this morning...she made it sound so easy!

 see the little white rosettes, I used a flower punch for the bottom instead of a circle....it makes it look like an open rose and I didn't add a center because I made them small and the looked just fine the way there were.. I also used a dab of hot glue to hold the knot in the center( I couldn't get my other glue to hold it) but used the other glue on the rest. I think I was just to impatient and couldn't wait for it to take hold LOL

the real ME

Yes a very rare picture of me LOL..... I wanted to do the challenge over at S.W.A.T and the focus was all about you.

I kind of had a field day wit this layout,I have glitter all over my house now the flowers I made awhile ago but didn't have the opportunity to use them!

 I painted the doilies they have a pretty shine to them....I also used a bunch of chipboard words that describe me.....

 Love the little heart charm...there is also a hidden journal tag at the top left....

there are plenty of layers for me to play with...

Beautiful

I thought I would give the challenge over at Scrap for Help a shot which also lead me over to The color Room...so I combined both challenges :o)

I used another picture from my lovely penpal this one is of Diablo Lake( the green color of the water comes from the glacier effect) in North Cascades National Park....its another beautiful picture!

the plastic are the flower in the corner of the picture and the butterfly!

these challenges gave me the perfect chance to use these cute yellow flowers I make with some fabric scraps...they are all soft!

Winter Wonder

I so wanted to try the challenge over at The paper mixing Bowl and their challenge and the one over at Berry71blue kind of went together so that's just what I did! I got to use these beautiful pictures a friend of mine took out at the lake a couple days ago...its just down the street from my house.I worked with the white space which was part of both challenges.....

the colors are a bit off in the pictures but I swear the background paper matched the beads LOL the paper is really shiny and throws off more of a blue color with the flash of my camera.we bought them both at the same time just for this color challenge.

I love this picture...the fresh snow...its always beautiful until someone walks in it LOL

Pen pal

Yes you read the title right I have a pen pal I love to get real mail so this was a perfect fit for me...to tell the truth I can't even remember how we found each other lol but we kept in touch for quite a few years and he used to send me pictures all the time....some of them were absolutely beautiful like the one I used today its a picture of Mt. Rainier, the highest point in Washington State or that's what he tells me anyway lol I have quite a few from Seattle and I can't wait to scrap them!

Sleepy

Good day.....So as some of you already know I received a wonderful present about a week ago and there were so many wonderful papers..hehe there was this set which I used today that I really liked because it kind of reminded me of when the kids were small and they would make those drawing, you know the ones I'm talking about....I always had them on my refrigerator(I think I still have some packed away some where)...well they are really bold colors ....so I kind of worked backwards since I had the papers now I needed a picture LOL Not as easy as I thought it would be! But I found one of my favorite Pug Wicked she's just too cute...I had my picture,papers and a sketch from A2Z Scraplets  and here is what I came up with....

as you can see freehand swirls are not my thing! lol but it works with the page so its all good!
